How to use

  1. To find a percentage of a value, enter the total and percentage. For example, 15% of 200 is 30.
  2. A ratio is part ÷ total × 100. Percentage change is (new − original) ÷ |original| × 100.
  3. Enter an original price and a discount from 0% to 100% to see the sale price and amount saved. Calculate with the button or Enter.

Example

20% off 10,000 gives a sale price of 8,000 and savings of 2,000. A change from 100 to 80 is −20%.

Frequently asked question

How are zero and negative original values handled?

Percentage change from zero is undefined and shows a message. For a negative original value, the denominator uses its absolute value to preserve the direction of change. Results show up to six decimal places.
